Shortcuts in the Send To menu

Below is the list of items that I have in my SendTo folder for the context menu that pops up when you right click on a file. They can be placed in C:\Documents and Settings\<<Profile Name>>\SendTo\. If you want them to span multiple profiles, then you can put them in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SendTo\ as well. I find it really easy to just put them in the above locations as well as Default User and Administrator so they are available whatever login I use. I know that doing so is redundant, but since I want to clean out what is exists there already, it does not take much to add in this set.

On Win Me/98/95, the SendTo folder is located in C:\Windows\.

On the bottom of this page is a link to the zip file where all of the links reside. You may wonder why am I bothering with something that may be considered trivial. Well, I have two reasons. First, I wanted to post the zip file to my site so that I could download it anytime I need to. The page is so that I do not have to try to remember the exact link to the download. Second, I figure that if I find this useful, someone may find it useful as well so why not take a little time to make sure that someone know what is in the zip file.

The zip file contains the following links:

• _Notepad.lnk - A link to Notepad
• _Winword.lnk - A link to Wordpad
• regsvr.exe.lnk - A link to regsvr32.exe to register a COM object
• unregsvr32.exe.lnk- A link to regsvr32.exe to unregister a COM object
• Desktop (create shortcut) - A link to create a shortcut on the desktop

This is it. I remove everything else from the list. The links to Notepad and Wordpad begin with an underscore so they appear first in the list since they are the two items I use the most.
